Cold weather moves in – and everyone has a cold (including me)

Over the last week suddenly everything has changed. It seems that everyone has suddenly given up believing in the summer and warm weather and resigned themselves to winter and misery. One person after the other has succumbed to a measly common cold and finally even me.

As I sit here with my medical supplies around me I try and find the beauty in autumn. Pretty landscape with beautifully coloured trees, flying kites (as mentioned in my last blogpost – but strangely not as much fun as sipping lemsip), cosy night in, hot chocolate, the feeling that you are allowed to eat stodgy food without a bad conscience, because a) it will combat your cold and b) the body is supposed to put on a little weight to survive the winter months by nature! But I am not quite convinced.

For the first time this fall the nights are frosty and I have rescued my decorative gourds (if you don’t know what they are – check out the link) from the garden, in time for my Halloween party (Halloween this year is on a Friday so that is perfect). I am not sure what I will dress up as. At the moment I resemble a sorry mess.
