Glastonbury weather in retrospect

I never told you about my experience of the Glastonbury festival – and it has been two weeks already! I was dreading the weekend when the forecast got wetter and wetter. On Thursday afternoon I was sitting in the car observing my watch and the clouds – convinced that I knew the exact moment in time when it would start chucking it down – and I did!

Muddy Glastonbury

It started off with some light showers as predicted and by 10pm it was raining so much that the windscreen wipers couldn’t keep up! We arrived at the site, sorted out our possession and wrapped them in as much waterproof material as did not seem insane and started the trek down to the festival.

By the time we were putting up our tents I was soaked through to the bone. I went to sleep cold and wet that night and woke up in a very similar state the next morning – except for slightly more miserable than the night before. It stopped raining for a bit – and there were only some light showers on Friday throughout the day in general, but the mood rose considerably as on Saturday the sun came out and started drying the mud that I had been dredging through on Friday.

Sunshine at Glastonbury

The rest of the weekend was the most gloooorious weather ever and they are the days that I had the most fun. Lying in the sun outside the acoustic tent, soaking it all up! Glastonbury 2009 I am coming!!! (But please no rain!!! – this year about 70% of my clothes did not dry throughout the weekend!)
