Months worth of rain to hit London on Friday - rainy weekend ahead

The London weekend weather forecast has been better:

Met office forecasters are predicting that there will be a heavy storm tomorrow from the Atlantic, that will bring lots of rain along. Lots mean 1.9in which is 5cm!!!

This is unbelievable as I look out of the window now... the sun is out, there is hardly any wind and there are just a few remote clouds in the sky!

But apparently that is about to change over night. As the Met predicted: If you thought August (one of the darkest, wettest Augusts on record) was miserable and wet you have seen nothing yet, September is predicted to be much worse.

A Met person said: "There will be no respite from the miserable summer weather just yet."

Heavy rain and gusting winds are expected, with forecasters predicting that some areas will suffer localised flooding.

South-west England and Wales will bear the brunt of the Friday storms with 50mph winds expected.

Conditions will then worsen on Friday before petering out over the remainder of the weekend.

A spokesman for the weather centre MeteoGroup said: "A deep depression is moving in from the South West on Friday.

"Much of the UK will experience rain with the South West and Wales being the worst hit.

"By the end of Friday there will be some localised flooding in places.

"The whole of Wales will get pretty heavy rain. The weather we are going to see would be fairly typical of autumn conditions."

The average rainfall for September is 70-80mm .
