Spring

Spring

Spring is the season where nature wakes up again after it had a rest in winter.
There is more sunshine than in winter and the days become steadily longer. It is also warmer.

Because of the warmth and the light the flowers and trees start to blossom. They wait for the bees and other insects to carry their pollen to other flowers so that fruit can develops. Birds return from the south and build their nests to get babies. And even humans become livelier in spring!

Flowers & hay fever

Now is the right time to go out and enjoy the fresh green of the grass and the flowers and plants. Some people suffer from hay fever in spring. This means they are allergic to the pollen that is flying around in the air. The body thinks that the pollen wants to harm the body and tries to get it out again as quickly as possible. This is why people allergic to flower pollen sneeze a lot and have watering eyes.

Outside activities

It may not be warm enough yet to get your swim wear and go swimming, but this is the right time of the year to go on a hike and explore nature. Don't forget to take your binoculars to watch those birds!
But again, make sure to be dressed sensibly. There is still a lot of rain in spring and the evenings may be cold. A weatherproof jacket or an umbrella should definitely be in your backpack.
