Top 10 personal musical highlights and Glastonbury experiences in 2008 10-6

10. The insight that I am not useless at living the hard life in a tent.

9. Cheap percussion instruments and other goodies: We bought some cheap percussion instruments from this shop that had a half-price sale on. What a goldmine! Of course the nights after that were a little noisier in comparison to the ones before. There were also Guardian and Yeo Valley Glastonbury bags to be had. Wicked souvenirs! The physical mementos are there to keep the memory alive!

8. Manu Chao: My last but not least mentioned musician. I have been a fan of the “Clandestino” for about eight years now (wow I am old!!!). He did not deliver as much musically as I had hoped – but that is what you get when you have very high expectations! But although he seemed to play the same heavily Bob Marley “inspired” bits over and over he created a really, really fun atmosphere. Followed by the fireworks that announced the end of Glasto08!

7. The food - with a special mention going to the fantastic Jerk Chicken. Mnamnamnamnamnam! Other yummy snacks: Chocolate & Banana Crepes, Thai, Mexican, vegetarian falafel and Sausage & Mash.

6. The weather: As mentioned in my last post, after an initial baptism of fire, the weather cleared up and got really nice. Thank you Mr Blue Sky!
