Blame it on the weather

So the day before yesterday I had just blamed the weather for my cold, when I stumbled across this amusing yet true news article that has appeared in the telegraph. I think Philip Eden has a point.

In the article he describes how more and more, politicians, scientists and really everyone use the weather as a scapegoat for their own failures, rather than putting their hands up and admitting their incompetence. An occurrence of this comes to mind: Who else has thought it ludicrous that British Rail blame “leaves on the tracks” for the delay of rails. I can just imagine employees of British rail patrolling the tracks with leaf blowers!

So back to me and my runny nose: Am I to blame and not the weather? Instead of blaming the weather I should blame the common cold, also called acute viral nasopharyngitis, or also acute coryza which is in fact a viral infectious disease for which there is to day no cure – all we do is treat the symptoms!

So according to Wikipedia I should blame a lack of hand washing, but because I simply cannot accept that I think I will take the blame of the weather and load it onto my little sister who had it first and passed it on to me! Ha! (No worries little sis, I don’t really mean it, I am just delirious with headache and fed-up with sneezing…)
