The London Weather Station

During the past few days I’ve really noticed the nights have been drawing in and the weather is getting noticeably colder, last week we really hit a cold front! It was very cold over the weekend, we battoned down the hatches and locked all heat in the house! The heating even came on for the 1st time in ages! But fortunately it warmed up slightly this week. It just goes to show what we’ve got in store for the winter, cloudy overcast and cold! It’d be nice to see a bit of blue sky, even though it’s cold, it’s always comforting to see a clear sky.

In central London it’s been overcast and cloudy for the past few days now and it’s strange because it seems to be much later than it actually is, I’ve been noticing the office lights on when I’ve been working and yet it’s only 3pm! You forget they’re always on but somehow only notice it about the same time each day when the light starts to fade.

It also seems to be a “London weather thing” the whole overcast and cloudy look, but I’m not complaining! It kind of suits London. Ok it’s not a great look, but I think if it was a beautiful sunny day without a cloud in the sky we’d all be wondering what’s up?

This weekend I’m going to make sure I’ve stocked my winter wardrobe right up and got some nice warm coats as I think we’re in for a cold one! Yep.... Winter is truly here!
